Meet Robin
Robin was born on July 3, 1956, in Baltimore, Maryland—one of seven children and a twin. From the very beginning, her life was rooted in care for others. As a young girl, she stood beside her hearing-impaired twin in a world that offered few supports, learning early what it meant to be patient, protective, and quietly strong. She didn’t just love people—she showed up for them.
In 1977, she married the love of her life, David, and together they built a home grounded in compassion, resilience, and unwavering support. When her son was diagnosed with autism in the 1980s, Robin became his fiercest advocate—navigating systems that weren’t built for families like hers, determined to create opportunities where none existed. She never accepted limits when it came to the people she loved.
Later, she returned to work to help put her daughter through college—teaching herself the skills to become a computer analyst. She was resourceful, determined, and gifted with her hands—able to fix, create, and improve just about anything. But her greatest gift was something harder to define.
Robin had a quiet way of showing up.
No judgment. No conditions.
Just presence, compassion, and a deep belief in others—especially when they couldn’t see their own worth.
She believed that where you were going mattered more than where you had been.
And she lived that belief every single day.
Robin found joy in simple, meaningful moments—sunlight on the water, time with family, the beach and boating. Her greatest joy was her granddaughter, who carries forward her warmth and light.
In 2019, Robin passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.
But her story didn’t end there.
Today, her legacy lives on through the Robin’s Nest—a community built on the same values she embodied so effortlessly: dignity, compassion, and showing up for one another in times of need. Because the truth is—there are people in our community right now facing the same kind of challenges Robin once navigated. Families doing their best with limited resources. Individuals carrying heavy burdens, often alone.
That’s where you come in. Your support helps us turn compassion into action—providing food, essential items, and connection to those who need it most. It allows us to meet people where they are, without judgment, and remind them they are not alone.
Every donation, every shared resource, every act of kindness becomes part of something bigger:
A community that shows up.
A network of care.
A legacy of love that continues to grow.
Because of you, Robin’s spirit lives on—
in every life touched, every burden lightened, and every moment someone realizes they don’t have to do it alone.
Hard times are meant to be held together, not alone. 🖤
